The Session is comprised of Elders of the Church who are elected by the Congregation to serve as it's guiding body for oversight and management of all church activities (from religious and worship programs to staffing and general operation of church). The Session is the "business end" of the church.
The pastor serves as the Moderator, and the board also includes a few members who are appointed by the session, such as the Clerk, the financial Secretary, the treasurer and our representative to Presbytery. Only the elected members of session vote on issues.
The Session members are responsible for many of the committees of the church.
